Career Cruising Portfolio Tool Launching Today!

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Portfolio Tool, the newest addition to the Career Cruising website. The portfolio tool is like an online filing cabinet where users can keep all the information they will need to plan their education and career path. The portfolio tool is made up of two parts: a Career Portfolio Tool and Resume Builder.

With the Career Portfolio Tool you can:

• Save your Career Matchmaker Results
  
• Keep notes on the careers that interest you
  
• Develop an education plan based on your career interests
  
• Express your career and life goals
  
• List your extracurricular activities and work experiences

The Resume Builder makes it easy for users to create great looking resumes that showcase:

• Career objectives
  
• Education
  
• Work experience
  
• Skills and abilities
  
• Extracurricular activities
  
• Any awards and certificates they have received

To use the portfolio, users can click on the navigation button at the top of the screen marked 'Portfolio'. They will then be asked to create a new portfolio by entering in their name and choosing a username and password that is unique to them.

Once the portfolio has been created, any career or school profile can be easily added to their portfolio as they navigate through Career Cruising by simply clicking on the grey button marked 'Save to my portfolio'. Once saved to the portfolio, users can review their selections at any time and add in their own personal comments.

The resume building component moves forward from the portfolio and lets the user enter detailed information in any or all of 8 different criteria (Education, Work Experience, References etc.). The tool allows them to select which features they wish to include on the final draft of their resume as well as choose on of 3 styles of resume. The resumes can either be printed straight from Career Cruising or exported to Word and other formats.
