Delaware Selects Career Cruising to Develop an Online SSP

We are pleased to announce that Career Cruising has been chosen to build an online Student Success Plan (SSP) for middle and high school students in Delaware.

Delaware has a long-standing commitment to education reform, being among the first states to establish content standards with accompanying assessments and creating a streamlined data infrastructure. The Student Success Plan (SSP) provides another example of its commitment to helping students achieve their goals while promoting the values of a civil and democratic society.

The core objective of the Student Success Plan (SSP) is to prepare students for future success in both postsecondary education and in the workplace. By September 2007, all incoming 8th and 9th grade students freshman will have five year individual Student Success Plans that connect students to career pathways. The web-enabled plan will provide 24x7 access and make it easier for teachers, parents and other learning partners to collaborate around the needs of individual students.

In order to achieve these objectives, the Delaware Department of Education issued an RFP in January 2007 soliciting bids for the development of an online Student Success Plan. The SSP contract was awarded to Career Cruising after an evaluation of different vendors responding to the RFP. Career Cruising was found to best meet the combined technical, administrative, financial and end-user requirements outlined by the RFP.

The Delaware SSP is scheduled to launch in September 2007.
