Career Cruising Acquires ExpoEd Inc. Technology
Career Cruising has announced its purchase of the ExpoEd software platform, an online course planner that helps students, parents, and educators make more informed course selections decisions by bringing together key tools and information.
ExpoEd enables users to view past credit history, current course selections, and course requirements specific to post-secondary areas of interest. All course plans are automatically validated for prerequisite relationships and graduation requirements. With a single click, administrators can export students’ course selections for import into their scheduling system. ExpoEd also provides tools for guidance departments, such as automated course recommendations, customized alerts, complete online course calendars, and other tools to save guidance departments both time and money.
The new Course Planner add-on module will be fully integrated into the Career Cruising Portfolio Development System, offering a complete high school course registration and planning system. Course Planner will also provide participating schools with a number exciting new features, including Career Cluster and Pathway tracking, tracking for CTE credits, assisting with reporting requirements, and integration with Career Cruising’s Portfolio Completion Standards feature.
“This new technology will use Career Cruising’s existing content to present much more meaningful information as students select courses for high school,” said Matt McQuillen, President of Career Cruising. “We have also obtained the key staff and developers from ExpoEd, which gives us the ability to continue building on their expertise as we develop new features.”
“Career Cruising's acquisition of the ExpoEd software confirms its leading edge role in North American markets among career exploration and guidance support software providers. Finally students will be able to create education plans that coordinate all the information they need to select high school courses, consider various careers, and make decisions about post secondary options. With this addition, Career Cruising will become an even more vital tool for guidance staff and parents in helping students achieve their hopes and dreams.” Gary Leduc, retired superintendent of education and president, PACTS: Professional and Educational Consulting Services Inc.
