Ontario Extends Career Cruising Access to Public Libraries

We are very happy to announce that Knowledge Ontario has recently decided to license Career Cruising for all of the province’s public libraries, colleges, and universities. Through this agreement, all Ontario residents will soon be able to use Career Cruising in both English and French from wherever they access the Internet.

Access to Career Cruising has been provided through Knowledge Ontario’s Resource Ontario project. The goal of the Resource Ontario project is to provide equitable access to a core set of information and learning resources. This project helps ensure that all Ontarians, regardless of location or background, have access to resources that can help them succeed in the knowledge economy.

When consulting with its library and post-secondary school partners, Knowledge Ontario identified the importance of high quality career planning information and tools for Ontario residents. “We are very pleased that Knowledge Ontario has made universal access to online career planning resources a top priority and we are thrilled that they have chosen Career Cruising to meet this need,” Jeff Harris, Vice-President of Career Cruising.

All Ontario public libraries and post-secondary institutions currently using Career Cruising will not experience any changes to the way they access the program. A comprehensive training plan and roll-out strategy for sites not currently using Career Cruising is currently being finalized and details will be released soon.
