Career Cruising to Help Students in Northwest Territories Focus on the Future

We are pleased to announce that schools, career development centres, and libraries across the Northwest Territories will now have access to Career Cruising’s online career exploration and guidance program, thanks to funding from BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc.

“Career Cruising will be an important part of the career research process for students from Grade 7 through graduation,” commented Minister of Education, Culture and Employment Jackson Lafferty.

BHP Billiton’s funding makes Career Cruising available to students in the territory from Grades 7-12, as well to six career development centres, five public libraries, and Aurora College for three years. Career Cruising will complement the Jobmatics' Focusing My Future My Way™ program being implemented through a partnership between BHP Billiton and the Department of Education, Culture and Employment.

“The career planning process is vital to ensuring that our youth are well prepared to make the right choices for themselves upon completion of Grade 12,” Richard Morland, President and Chief Operating Officer of BHP Billion Diamonds Inc.

Career Cruising is now licensed for use in schools province-wide by six Canadian provinces and one territory.
