Skills Assessment Now Available

Career Cruising's Skills Assessment tool is now online.

To access the Skills Assessment you must complete at least the first 39 questions of Matchmaker. Then, from the career suggestions page, look for a new button on the right hand side titled "My Skills" At this point you can click on the "My Skills" button and proceed to answer 45 skills-related questions.

After completing these questions you will be taken back to your original career suggestions list. The careers on your list will not have changed from what you saw after answering the Career Matchmaker questions. However, each career will now have a colored icon next to it which represents the level of suitability for that career in terms of skills. Also, when you click on a career from your list, the "Suitable for You" chart will provide you with feedback in terms of your interests and skills.

Note: As this assessment focuses on skills, it may not be appropriate for all users. Younger students or individuals who have not had the opportunity to develop job-related skills may find their skills ratings to be low. In these cases, we believe the skills assessment is primarily useful for helping users understand which skills are necessary to pursue a particular career.
