Students will be expected to develop an understanding of the industry with a focus on mastery of content knowledge and skills. This course provides students the opportunity to professionally work with other students as a design team. This class will prepare students to identify numerous design careers, evaluate design for audience, meaning, effectiveness, and visual appeal, apply the elements and principles of design, learn to address and meet client needs, apply professional typographic concepts, and create attractive layouts which effectively communicate. Students will be fully expected to objectively evaluate their work by professional standards, produce answers to project prompts in a timely manner, and apply proper terminology used in the industry. PRACTICUM IN AUDIO/VIDEO PRODUCTION A PRAAVA
This class contains the production staff for TV including anchors, producers, editors, and camera operators; operation and use of television equipment; and fundamentals of television production and direction. Students will be exposed to a variety of production situations. Lab experience is directed toward producing news stories for broadcast media. Students will produce video packages for Campus TV broadcasts, the Student Television Network, the BISD Broadcast Network (BBN), iTunes, and various other video related contests. Emphasis will be on principles, history, techniques, and forms of broadcast communication. Additional time beyond regular school hours is required.

This course develops an understanding of the various and multifaceted career opportunities in audio/video technology and the knowledge, skills, and educational requirements for those opportunities. Students will be engaged by learning broad concepts, which are common to all professional imaging and multimedia careers. This is an introductory class which is concept and lab based. Emphasis will be applied to terminology, group exercises, and individual projects designed to reveal the intended use of the software and professional use.
