Leadership and Peer Support (for Gr. 11 students) GPP3O1
The best way to develop strong leadership skills is to experience leadership and to reflect upon those experiences. Leadership and Peer Support is a course for Grade 11 students who wish to become better leaders.

In this course, LPS students will be placed in a junior classroom in a subject area in which they have experienced previous success. Their role in this class is that of a student mentor, working closely with the students (both academically and interpersonally) and with assisting the classroom teacher. This experience, combined with weekly assignments, reflection reports and out-of-class projects, give LPS students the opportunity to participate, to witness and to reflect upon the concept of leadership as a whole, and in their leadership skills in particular. Topics such as communication, character education, interpersonal relations, teamwork and leader characteristics are explored.
COURSE NOTE: Guidance reserves the right to remove this (awesome) course request from a student's Course Plan, and to replace it with one of the alternate courses, IF a student is deemed to NOT be in EXEMPLARY (academic and behaviour) standing.
