Interdisciplinary Studies (Mentorship Program) IDC4UM
Admission to this program is through an application and interview process with the SWC Co-operative Education and Science departments and the affiliate university. Students MUST meet with Mr. Domarchuk &/or Mr. Bruschke and ensure that their application is being processed through the school as well as with the university.

Applications are usually made available in February; decisions are usually made in May. Listen to announcements and check with the co-op department for more details.

This course, along with the co-op periods, will not be added to your timetable until you have been accepted!

The two-credit co-op will be scheduled into an afternoon time slot in order to support the achievement of the IDC4U1 credit. The IDC4U1 credit is scheduled outside of the regular school day.

This course will help students develop and consolidate the skills required for and knowledge of different subjects and disciplines to solve problems, make decisions, create personal meaning, and present findings beyond the scope of a single subject or discipline. Students will apply the principles and processes of inquiry and research to demonstrate an effective use of a range of print, electronic, and mass media resources; to analyze historical innovations and exemplary research; and to investigate real-life situations and career opportunities in interdisciplinary endeavours. They will also assess their own cognitive and affective strategies, apply general skills in both familiar and new contexts, create innovative products, and communicate new knowledge.

This course is taught in affiliation with the Brock University Mentorship and Physics Enrichment programs, and the University of Guelph Horticultural Department at Vineland Station.

NOTE: Students may only select, and receive credit for, one of these three courses: IDC4UM (Brock Mentorship), IDC4OB (Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Open Level), IDC4UB (Sports and Entertainment Marketing, University Level).
COURSE NOTE: This combination of COOP8 and IDC4U1 represents an opportunity for students to achieve 3 credits.
